Hi, I’m Laurie,
I’m 32 years of age, from Newcastle. Although I’ve lived in different countries and cities Newcastle always felt like home, there’s something very special about it and I’m here to stay. I love nothing more than keeping fit and active, on my days off you’ll find me up a mountain or in the gym, maybe even the North Sea, whatever the weather!
I knew from an early age I wanted to make animals part of my future career and that’s exactly what I did. I completed a Veterinary Nursing Diploma and became a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2017. I welcomed a very special Hungarian Vizsla named Rudi into my life in 2020 who turned my life upside down, he came with a multitude of behavioural issues, unknowingly it ignited a passion I never knew I had, dog training and behaviour, I owe it all to him.
Year after year I became more and more passionate about dog training, so I opened up my world to more studies, I became an ADTB (Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour) approved instructor in 2022, completed a Feline behaviour certificate with Compass Education in 2023 (cats are fascinating too). With welfare being a top priority, I decided ethical dog training was my calling and completed the IMDT (Institute of modern Dog Trainers) Level 3 certificate in Learning, Motivation and Reinforcement. I then became a fully certified IMDT dog trainer after completing an assessment in 2023.
It certainly won’t stop there, I want to continue my professional development and become a behaviourist one day, specialising in reactivity but right now I’m just happy looking after all your dogs, ensuring they’re happy and healthy in every way, that’s my top priority.
